For a golf club company that calls the Nationwide Tour its home, winning the Nationwide Tour Championship is like finding the "holy grail."

On Sunday, a 35-year-old player from Wales helped the company do just that, and helped him secure the # 1 position on the official Nationwide Tour money list. It was the second year in a row that the # 1 player on the Nationwide Tour played Nickent hybrids.

The winner of Nationwide Tour Championship at Barona Creek, a long time Nickent user, claimed his fourth victory on the Nationwide Tour Sunday, his second of the year after winning Nickent's "homecoming" event at the Mark Christopher Charity Classic three weeks ago.

The winner earned 8 Top 10 finishes with his 4DX Ironwood, made the cut in 17 of the 25 events he played and finished with $445,421. He finished with a 20-under 264 total on the Barona Creek course, breaking the tournament record of 18-under 270 set by Nickent staff player Chris Couch in 2003. Along with fully exempt status on the PGA Tour, the Welshman secured a spot in The Players Championship as the money champion.
"It's nice. I didn't come in here with any goals of getting into the No. 1 spot," admitted the winner. "I figured I had to win. I just had a fun week." More...

"Can you believe it?" Brad Adamonis asked after claiming his first win in 120 Nationwide Tour starts.

Adamonis carded eight straight pars in a playoff to claim victory Sunday at the WNB Golf Classic in Midland, TX. Adamonis vaulted to 30th on the Nationwide Tour money list with his win.

It was also the first win by an official Nickent staff player. The other 21 previous wins Nickent has been a part of over the last three seasons all came from players who were not endorsed to play Nickent products. (Nickent inked 20 PGA, LPGA and Nationwide contracts for 2007, the first time the company has formed their own professional staff.)

"This was is really big for us because Brad is our guy," said Josh Trivett." It is our third straight week with a win and our 9th win of the season. This one was special because usually when we are part of a win, we can't use the player's name or picture. Hundreds of professionals use our clubs because they love the performance, but it is really great to have the champion hoist a trophy dressed head to toe in Nickent gear." More...

Nickent sure has an eye for talent. Their youngest staff player, Teresa Lu, finished 2nd this past week at the NW Arkansas Championship. It was her best finish on the LPGA since joining the LPGA Tour last season.

Lu had seven birdies and just one bogey and was glad to get the round of 66 in before constant rain shortened the event by 36 holes.

"That is a good advantage," she said. "I finished today and I can sleep in tomorrow, which is good. We just hang out with friends, chitchat, had fun and had a good time."

The 2nd place finish did not move her up the LPGA money list because the event was shortened and did meet the requirements for players to earn official tournament money, but it was good experience for her to collect her best finish on the LPGA Tour. This high finish should solidify Teresa’s position as one of the top young talents on the LPGA Tour.

Teresa carries a Nickent Golf staff bag and plays Nickent the 3DX Pro fairways, 3DX DC ironwoods and 3DX Pro irons. More...

What's the easiest way to improve your rank in the FedEx Cup standings? You put a Nickent hybrid in play. That's exactly what the winner of the Reno-Tahoe Open did to catapult himself from 140th to 79th in the all-important playoff race.

The ultimate goal is to be among the Top 144 Points Leaders following the Wyndham Championship August 19th.

Twelve players in the Top 144 have trusted Nickent hybrids to help secure their place on the list, including the #3, #31, #37, #38 and #39 ranked players. Only two of those players are endorsed by Nickent, staff players Jeff Quinney and Ryan Armour.

The win was Nickent's second win on the PGA Tour this year, the first being a major championship victory at the US Open. It is the 18th victory for Nickent on the PGA Tours over the last 3 seasons, 5 of which have come on the exclusive PGA Tour.

The winner of the Reno-Tahoe Open put a 3DX DC Ironwood in his bag for the first time this week, helping him to his third title on the PGA Tour. He ran away from the field for the first wire-to-wire victory of the PGA Tour season and a commanding five-stroke victory. The win earned the player a spot in the PGA Championship for the 10th year in a row, where he's made the cut seven of the past nine times. More...

What can a new driver do for your game? With the new 4DX Driver, that is a question Nickent Golf has had no problem answering lately. Nickent was just a few inches away from earning their 2 nd driver victory on the Nationwide Tour this year, but ended up with a 2nd place finish. The 4DX has been the fastest growing driver on the Nationwide Tour since it was introduced in March.

Nickent staff member Scott Gardiner had a career best finish Sunday at the Legend Financial Group Classic in Highland Heights, Ohio. Scott has now finished in the Top 5 three weeks in a row with his 4DX Driver.

With the Nationwide season just over half way through, Scott's improved play has catapulted him to 18 th on the Nationwide Tour money list. At the end of the year, 25 players will graduate to the 2008 PGA Tour. Let's take a quick look at how the new 4DX Driver by Nickent Golf helped get him there. More...

The good news just keeps pouring in for Nickent! This week, after enjoying their first ever major championship last week at the US Open, the attention is back on their “hot” new 4DX Driver.

After a non-staff player won with the 4DX Driver three weeks ago, the 4DX has been the buzz of the tour. Eleven 4DX Drivers were in play last week at the Knoxville Open, including the 2nd place finisher, Nickent staff player and Nationwide Tour rookie Kyle McCarthy. Scott Gardiner, a Nickent staff member from Australia, finished 5th with the 4DX Driver in his bag and Kevin Gessino-Kraft collected his third Top 20 in his last 4 events since switching to the Nickent driver.

Four players using the 4DX Tour Spec Driver finished in the Top 25 at the Knoxville Open. There was one player who carried both a Draw Spec and a Tour Spec version of the 4DX Driver to utilize two different ball flights, while another player had two drivers in play in order to fit the 4DX into his bag. Nickent is getting closer to becoming one of the elite drivers on the Nationwide Tour. In fact, the 4DX was the 5th most played driver on the tour at Knoxville, passing two super-power companies in the process.

”We have to remain focused through all of the changes we are experiencing due to the impressive performance of our entire 2007 product line,” said Nickent Senior Vice President John Hoeflich. “Just because we have a winner in the 4DX Driver doesn’t mean we stop being the King of Hybrids, but it does add credibility to our story.” More...

Nickent hybrids played a major factor at Oakmont, helping the eventual champion stay away from the brutal rough off the tee. He was the only player to shoot under par in two rounds at the 2007 US Open, a feat largely the result of his accuracy off the tee. The winner used a 17-degree 3DX DC Ironwood with a 42 1/2" Aldila Proto-pype Lo-Brid 85-X shaft. The club helped the player nicknamed "El Pato" to his first major victory and also the first US Open victory for a player from Argentina.

"I watched all the majors on TV when I was a kid," the winner said. "I never thought I would be here at this moment." The champion collected $1.26 million for his accomplishment. He also earned a five-year exemption on the PGA Tour, an exemption into the Open for 10 years and a five-year exemption into the Masters, British Open, P.G.A. Championship and the Players Championship. More...

4DX and 3DXNickent celebrated their ascension into a full-line tour company Sunday with their first driver win on the PGA Tours. The Rex Hospital Open champion is a non-contracted player who had been using the new 4DX Tour Spec Driver for 4 events and has gained significant distance and accuracy with the traditional shaped, high MOI driver. He had a driving average of 317 in the first round this week, and his driving average has gone up from 288.9 yards in his previous 4 events to 298.22 yards since making the switch.

Other players are gravitating to the 4DX Driver are receiving the same results. Another non-contracted player at the Rex Hospital Open switched to the 4DX Driver this week and earned a Top 10 finish. Four 4DX Drivers finished in the Top 40 in both Driving Distance and Driving Accuracy this week. Players like Kevin Gessino-Kraft have gone from averaging 282 yards at the beginning of the year to averaging 301 yards in his last event. He credits the change in driver to two straight Top 20 finishes.

With all of the buzz, Nickent has become "hottest driver on the Nationwide Tour" the last few weeks, with 20 total 4DX Drivers put in play since the first driver was put in the field 6 weeks ago.

"We have been having a lot of fun out there," said Nickent Director of Tour Operations Josh Trivett. "Anytime you can help someone's game so much and get players excited about the most sought after club in the bag strictly on performance, you know you have something special. We may just have the best driver on the tour right now." More...

4DX and 3DXThe winner of the Melwood Prince Georges Country Open on the Nationwide Tour used a 17-degree 4DX Ironwood and a 20-degree 3DX DC Ironwood en route to an 18-under par victory. In the process, he became the first player to earn more than $1 million in career Nationwide Tour earnings.

The two clubs used in the victory are designed to provide two different ball flights; the multi-material 4DX with a 2 mm deeper face makes for a more penetrating flight with less spin and the 3DX DC Ironwood that has a higher trajectory and more spin. One was used primarily off the tee, and the other as a more versatile club from the fairway and from the rough. Nickent now has 25 different hybrid lofts in their 2007 line, catering to every possible shot needed on the golf course. This is far and away the most hybrid lofts available through a manufacturer, a statistic Nickent takes pride in. More...

The future is looking brighter for Nickent Golf. Hybrid sales are booming, the company's contract players are more visible with each passing week and now Nickent's "other" products are showing up in the bags of some of the world's best players. It may be safe to say that Nickent is no longer just the King of Hybrids™. Slowly but surely, Nickent is turning itself into a major brand on tour. This week, on the PGA Tour at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the event where Nickent won their first ever PGA Tour event in 2005, Nickent had three Top 10 finishes (2nd Place (34th Fed Ex Cup), 5th Place (16th FedEx Cup) and 8th Place (79th FedEx Cup).

New products of every type are being put into play, including the 4DX Driver, 3DX Pro fairway, 3DX Pro Irons and the new ARC Wedges.

"Drivers and irons are especially hard to get into play on the PGA Tours," said Josh Trivett, Director of Tour Operations for Nickent. "Almost all contracts cover these clubs and there is a lot of money floating around to try and secure them. To see our products so readily accepted by the best players in the world has made me very proud. We had our first driver ever put into play in Georgia, and it ended up helping the player to finish 3rd in driving accuracy. I can't ask for much more out of our product!"

The winner and the second place finisher at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open both used 3DX DC hybrids, according to the Darrell Survey. The victory was Nickent's 14th win on the PGA Tours over the last 3 seasons, 11 of which have come on the Nationwide Tour. No hybrid manufacturer has won more on the Nationwide Tour since the start of the 2005 season. All of these wins came from players who choose Nickent clubs without being an endorsed staff player.

This year, Nickent has moved into the world of signing professional staff players to perfectly complement their 3-year exclusive OEM series sponsorship of the Golf Channel's Nationwide Tour coverage. The team includes: Brad Adamonis, Joseph Alfieri II, Ramon Bescansa, Dustin Bray, Josh Broadaway, Jason Caron, Erik Compton, Scott Gardiner, Kevin Gessino-Kraft, Ryan Howison, Jeff Klauk, Kyle McCarthy, Sal Spallone, Jon Turcott, Vance Veazey and Mark Walker, as well PGA Tour stars and ex-Nationwide Tour players Jeff Quinney and Ryan Armour, plus LPGA standouts Kyeong Bae and Theresa Lu.

The Tour’s hottest rookie, Nickent Staff Player Jeff Quinney, continued his amazing play this past week at the Nissan Open, earning his 4th Top 10 finish in his last 5 events. Quinney is Nickent’s only fully endorsed staff player on the PGA Tour, and so far he leads the PGA Tour in Top 10 finishes and in total eagles.

Quinney is ranked 8th on the PGA Tour money list and 9th in the FedEx Cup point standings. More importantly for Nickent, who claims to be the fastest growing golf club manufacturer in the business, Quinney has received major worldwide exposure for his outstanding play. Ryan Armour, another Nationwide Tour graduate carrying a Nickent staff bag on the PGA Tour this year, also scored a Top 10 for Nickent in only his third start on the “big tour.”

PGA Tour rookie Jeff Quinney has had himself quite a start on the PGA Tour. The Nickent Golf staff phenom has finished in the Top 10 of each of his last two PGA Tour events, his first three events as an exempt player on the PGA Tour.

When Quinney was asked about his recent roller coaster ride to PGA Tour stardom and how he could keep up the momentum, he said he had to remain focused.

"I have everything to gain and nothing to lose," said Quinney. "It's pretty much my first time being somewhat near the lead on the PGA Tour. Obviously, I was there a lot last year on the Nationwide Tour, which is totally different. But hopefully I can just draw on the experiences that I had last year and just play good."

Celebrating their homecoming event and their third year anniversary of becoming the #1 hybrid on the Nationwide Tour, Nickent Golf was hoping for a big week at the Mark Christopher Charity Classic this weekend.

They got the big week they were looking for in Rancho Cucamonga, just 20 miles from the Nickent headquarters, when the home town champion posted a wire-to-wire victory with a Nickent 3DX DC Ironwood in his bag.

ANCASTER, Ont - For the second time this year, a Nickent 3DX hybrid played a big role in leading the #2 player in the world to victory on the PGA Tour.

With his trusty 20-degree 3DX Ironwood, the winner of the Canadian Open out-dueled the 2nd place finisher, another Nickent hybrid user, to claim his 10th Top Five finish of the year. The win made him one of the world’s hottest golfers going into the Ryder Cup. His six-birdie round Sunday at the 6,983-yard Hamilton Golf and Country Club sealed the win. He has now finished no worse than 4th in six of his past seven starts.

There were dramatics to the highest degree at this week’s Pete Dye Classic on the Nationwide Tour. One Nickent enthusiast came down the 18th fairway with a two shot lead. His playing partner, another Nickent user, was surging with three birdies in the last four holes. They ended up in a Nickent vs. Nickent playoff that moved both players into the top 30 on the Nationwide Tour money list. (The winner moved from 149th to 27th and the second place finisher from 26th to 11th)

Ten players using Nickent 3DX DC hybrids finished in the Top 12 at the Pete Dye Classic. With nine events left on the Nationwide Tour, players are entrenched in a battle for one of the top 20 spots that will land them on the coveted PGA Tour.

August 14th, 2006 - One of the special things about Nickent Golf the last few years has been how many PGA Tour professionals have been playing their clubs without endorsement. Over 200 PGA Tour players have a Nickent hybrid in their bag, a large statement to the quality of Nickent's golf clubs. With Jeff Quinney, the 2000 US Amateur Champion, Nickent decided to break their mold of not signing players.

Quinney is currently 4th on the Nationwide Tour money list, which at this point makes him a virtual lock to graduate to the PGA Tour. Nickent currently has the # 3 , # 4 and # 5 players on the money list playing the new 3DX DC hybrids and nearly half of the Top 40 on the money list have played Nickent this year. Nickent is # 1 on the Nationwide Tour in hybrid clubs in play, victories and top 10 finishes in 2006.

Nickent hybrids are the #1 most played hybrids on the 2006 Nationwide Tour. Their #1 ranking at the Xerox Classic this week was their 12th #1 finish in the 20 events played so far this year. They also have dominated the Nationwide Tour in Victories and Top 10 finishes. Here’s a look at how Nickent held their own against some of the largest golf club makers in the world during what became known as “the hybrid war” of the 2006 Nationwide Tour.
