LPGA Player Wins First Event of the Season with Nickent’s PIPE® Putter

Joo Mi Kim’s dream of being a champion on the LPGA Tour was realized Saturday, besting a fellow Korean player on the second playoff hole of the SBS Open at Turtle Bay in Hawaii.

In the first LPGA event of the season and Kim’s first event using the PIPE® Putter, she led the field in putting with a 26.33 putts per round average. Kim sank a 14-foot putt on the first playoff hole for birdie to push the playoff hole. She then stuck a wedge to two feet and used her brand new PP-001 double-bend PIPE® Putter to seal the victory.

Popular Korean player Yoon Soo Choi won a Major event on the KPGA CHAMPIONS TOUR in dramatic fashion with his PIPE® Putter, sinking a 22-foot birdie on the 18th hole of Sundays round to capture the title.

Mr. Choi was one of the top performing putters at the KPGA Senior Championship, setting up his big putt and his big win. He also plays on the regular KPGA Tour and won the inaugural Asian Senior Masters. Helping to fuel the interest on the US and Asian Tours are 2 new models of the PIPE®. Nickent ARC Wedges and PIPE® Putter Finish 1-2 at Shinsaege Open

Every year, more and more LPGA players attend the Sinsaege Open, a huge event on the Korean version of the LPGA. This year’s champion, Kyeong Bay, played her trusty Nickent ARC Wedges on the way to victory. K.B. will playing the LPGA next year after finishing in the Top 3 of the Futures Tour. The ARC Wedge she uses is one of the most used wedges on the LPGA Tour. The ARC Wedge scored a Major win on the KLPGA last year, as well as an LPGA win, and two wins on the 2006 men’s European Tours, plus two Futures Tour events and the latest KLPGA win with K.B.

PIPE® Putter Leads Player to # 2 Putting Rank, Top 5 Finish at Senior Players Championship

The PIPE® Putter by Nickent Golf once again helped a tour player to their best putting performance of the season, this time in a Major event on the Champions Tour. In its first week in the bag, the PIPE® Putter drastically improved the 5th place finisher’s putts per round from an average of 29.46 to 26.3. This impressive 3-stroke swing led the player to a 2nd place ranking in putting and a 5th place finish at the Ford Senior Players Championship. Previously the 22nd ranked putter on the Champions Tour, the PIPE® catapulted the player up to the # 2 putting ranking in the second major tournament of the 2005 Champions Tour.
